System requirements
Check your hardware
- The sever (or computer) must be connected to the wider internet due to Bitcoin network connectivity requirements. We strongly recommend that the server has 24/7/365 uptime with proper port forwarding so that you may always have access to your node.
- 2 TB SSD
- Bitcoin Core and BlockSettleDB must reside on the same computer and both place significant strain on hard drives. Bitcoin core requires about 400 GB and BlockSettleDB requires about 1.3 times Bitcoin core, or around 600 GB, in total around 1 TB. The space requirement will grow by about 12 GB a month.

- 16 GB or more of RAM
- Average CPU
- The initial sync of both Bitcoin core and BlockSettleDB place high loads on system hardware. For example, the CPU may spend significant lengths of time at 100% usage. We recommend that both CPU and RAM is maximized.
