Getting started
Setup your wallet in minutes
- The BlockSettle Terminal is available for Linux, Windows, and macOS. Installation binaries can be found in the download section. To install the BlockSettle Terminal, download the relevant binary for your operating system and run the installation file.
- Once the Terminal is launched, the user will have a choice of creating a new wallet , importing a hardware wallet, or importing a previously existing wallet.
- When When creating a new wallet, BlockSettle will generate a 12 word seed on the users behalf, ask the user to confirm the seed, and then require that the user protects the seed with a password.
- Hardware wallets are imported as watching-only wallets. Watching-only wallets may generate addresses and create unsigned transactions. Should the user wish to sign and broadcast a transaction, they will be required to sign transactions via their device.
- When importing a previously existing wallet, users may import wallets from seed, which includes includes the ability to spend from the wallet, or to import wallets as watching only, which restricts wallet operations to generating addresses and creating unsigned transactions.
- Advanced users may select custom configurations in the form of selecting which BlockSettleDB they wish to connect to and which environment.
- By default, BlockSettle Terminal will connect via a server controlled by BlockSettle. Should you wish to connect to your own infrastructure, please download and configure the BlockSettleDB.
- Users may test their wallet and get comfortable with Bitcoin by running the Terminal in Testnet mode. In network settings, you may change to the Testnet environment. To retrieve Testnet bitcoin, please search for a bitcoin testnet faucet.
